Banff: From a phone’s perspective

I know that usually the photos I post are quite old, the most recent being from the previous month. But today’s post is quite up-to-date, from last weekend in fact. I took a ton of photos, mostly with “my” camera, but here are several from my phone, and a few from my cousin’s. Please don’t expect any “real” photos in the near future: if you see them in a year you will be lucky :))

P.S. As a photographer, I often feel the pressure to show only perfect, high-quality photos. So it is quite humbling to post hastily-taken, not-thought-out, and at times, low-quality photos. But honestly, I was quite at a loss on what to post today, so this is the result

  1. Hey looks like you had a pile of fun! 🙂 Banff is totally on my bucket list for places to go. ❤ Looks so beautiful on pictures that I can only imagine what it looks like for real. I, too, understand the feeling of sharing only those good pictures (since I'm also a photographer). But I've come to realize that some of my best, heart warming pictures are those spur-of-the-moment "raw delight" pictures. It also does a person good, I think, to shoot those not-thought-through pictures, because you capture the true beauty you would not have gotten if you had made sure that person was posing just right, etc. Ok, I apologize, it sounds like I'm lecturing you, which is totally not my intentions!! 🙂 I'm speaking to myself more than anything. 😉 I also just want to say that I enjoy your blog posts and keep up the good work!! ❤

    1. Thanks so very much for your kind words, Wanda! I really appreciate what you said, it’s so encouraging to hear and I totally did not take it as lecture:)) Emotion in photos is something that really appeals to me but often my perfectionist ways keep me from capturing it. So thanks again for your encouragement! And yes it was gorgeous in Banff, despite all the smoke and I highly recommend going there!
