And here we are again! July wasn’t a very full month when it came to photography, but otherwise it sure was:)) Maybe I’ll have some other photos concerning July yet, but as of now, here are some of my lovely clients!
Josh & Utje
Jon & Yesenia
The live in the fields
With the grass as their bed
Then the shed is their home
Till to cows they are fed

But first they can ride
In a bumpy old cart
Reaching up to the sky
They don’t spill; it’s an art
And along the way
Little things catch a ride
Mostly boys and some girls
Who won’t walk along side

They slide and they jump
They sit, stand, and don’t fall
The bales have a great load
Yet they don’t squirm at all
The children, they do
For joy they can’t hide
The delight is so great
That comes from a hay ride

I have already posted Judy and Joseph’s photos, which were taken in June, but other wise have been quite silent about all the other photo sessions that have been going on. So here again is a monthly overview.
Jonathan and Nelly
Brooklyn and Adahlia
Brooklyn’s sister Kezzia joined us for part of the session. Sisters are seriously the best! The girls were all so sweet!
Mackenzie and Ciandra
This photo shoot was focused on Ciandra, as it was her birthday, but I just had to take several photos of Mackenzie, her older sister. They both did amazing!

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a post on anything but client photography, so I hardly know how to go about it. But around a month ago we had several youth over and we became slightly crazy over the gorgeous sunset and several flowers. So here is my end of the photo shoot.

And some phone photography just to make it fun

This past month finally felt like the push that got photography in swing for the year. (Or so I hope…) I did two photo sessions and have several tentatively booked for later on in the season. I enjoyed it, though with every session I can distinctly see all the areas in which I need to improve. But then, learning is a wonderful experience! At least if it involves photography…:))
The Peters Family

The Doerksen Family

This past week my cousin Abigail came over and so that of course called for some picture time. She is a budding photographer who wanted a little coaching, and I was so honoured that she asked me! We had so much fun taking photos! I always love shooting with a young photographer, because it serves as such a great reminder. A reminder of where I started and that I’ve actually made progress. A reminder about why I began photography in the first place: to freeze time, to capture moments, to preserve memories. A reminder to take pictures purely for the joy and pleasure of it. Because so often when you are focused on developing a business, editing photos, and perfecting your art, you forget that at one point in time, photography was only a hobby, something you did just for fun. And while I wholeheartedly encourage all amateur photographers to get out there and really work hard to improve their photography and even build a business, sometimes you just need to step back and look. And remember to take photos simply for the pure joy of it, let go of all the perfecting pressure, and just shoot. For fun.
So that’s exactly what I did the other night with Abigail, and it was so good! In the midst of an overwhelming seasion, it was the perfect encouragement and inspiration to keep going, and enjoy it. So thanks a lot Abigail for the wonderful evening; coaching you that night did more for me than you’ll ever know. In fact, it wasn’t really me that did the teaching that evening, it was you.
And if you’ve stayed with me so far, here finally are the photos.
